Join Lucy as she speaks with Jessica Morgan VP & Deputy General Manager of La Coipa Mine with Kinross who competed in The Clipper Round The World Sailing Race 2023/2024.
Jessica tells us about her experience of sailing around the world on a boat with 20 other people, lessons she learnt at sea and also comparing the experience to life as an expat in the mining industry. We discuss coping with stress in high pressure situations, personal growth through challenging ourselves, embracing the discomfort and how it has enhanced her leadership skills that she will now take to her new role in Chile with Kinross. We also talk about mentorship within the mining sector, her core values and the habits of effective leaders whilst also the future of the mining industry.
